International students in high school who have been enrolled in the previous school year can ask about registering for Summer School with Metro Continuing Education. Summer School is available during a 3-week period in July.

A variety of Summer School courses are available at all levels (10, 20, 30) including 5-credit and 3-credit academic courses (ESL, English, Social Studies, Sciences, CALM, etc), as well as Art and Physical Education.

Registration for Summer School opens in March. International students must pay international tuition fees for Summer School courses. International students may not register online for Summer School, and must call Metro Continuing Education directly to register at 780-428-1111.

Homestay for International Students Attending Summer School

If they are enrolling in Summer School, international students participating in the Homestay program may request to extend their Homestay services for 3 weeks in July. Homestay services will not be confirmed until the student has registered for Summer School and paid the fees.

International students in the Homestay program must depart back to their home country at the end of Summer School; Homestay services are not available in August.
