Studies for Less than One Semester:
Studies for less than one semester must be approved on a case-by-case basis. If approved, tuition and health care insurance fees are pro-rated based on the annual international student tuition and health care insurance fees. To request programming for less than one semester, including a quote for the associated fees, please contact International Programs directly.
Additional Information
- Spending money is not included in the above costs.
- Students may purchase a bus pass each month through their school ($73/month 2023/24 rate).
- Students registered in 30-level Diploma courses pay a $50.00 fee per Diploma exam (whether they are writing for the first time or rewriting).
- Report card legalization is available upon request and costs $200 CAD. Please view our Validation of Report Cards webpage.

- International student tuition fees cannot exceed the costs of programming as per the Alberta School Act.
Payment Information
Pay fees in Canadian funds. An invoice will be issued once an application has been approved, including full payment details. International Programs uses Flywire for all tuition payments.

Payment due within 30 days of invoice date. Payment must be made within 30 days of the invoice date, or the application may be cancelled.
Refund Policy
- Refunds will be provided if the student:
- is denied admission to Edmonton Public Schools
- is unable to obtain a Study Permit. A copy of the IRCC rejection letter must be submitted with the Refund Request Form to be eligible for a refund.
- prior to September 30th becomes a Permanent Resident of Canada or the student's parent obtains a Work Permit or Study Permit (program dependent) valid for the duration of the student's study program. The EPSB International Student Program staff must have been made aware of the application for status change, at the time of the application for a work permit or residency, in order to be eligible for a refund.
- Once students commence study in Edmonton Public Schools no refunds will be issued.
- No refunds are issued for late arrivals.
- All refund requests must be made in writing and will be provided to the original payer only. All refund requests must be sent to isp@epsb.ca for review.
- Refunds will not be given for unforeseen circumstances that affect learning. Examples may include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, staffing issues, and political circumstances.
Attention:
To the parents of the applicant:
- You must inform international program staff if you are applying for a work permit.
- If you have applied for a work permit, your application will not be processed. You must wait for your work permit results.
- If you knowingly have applied for a work permit during your international student application process, you will not be eligible for a refund.
- When a student is registered as an international student to begin school at the start of the school year, they remain international until the end of the same academic school year. For this reason, families are responsible to remit the full year of international tuition fees regardless of their Work/Study Permit validity. If families do not, their student will be withdrawn and they can commence studies at the beginning of the next academic year.
- Changing status and school mid-year is not permitted.
